Office Beauty Tips

We may often forget that the key to success is to dress for it! Looking polished and put-together is almost as important as the work you do. The way you present yourself says a lot about your character.

The same goes for your makeup. Your beauty regimen says a lot about your personal taste, time management skills and judgment. It’s important to put some time into your appearance in the morning, but not so much that it appears as if you spend more time primping than working.

Here are a couple of tips to keep in mind about beauty in the workplace:

Hair

On days when you feel crunched for time, make use of the common bun. This appears professional and sleek. Polished ponytails and braids can also appear professional in the workplace. Make sure to dry your hair before leaving for work in the morning. Walking into the office with soaking wet hair can give off the impression of bad time management skills.

Nails

Chipped nail polish could come off as sloppy to your boss or other co-workers. If your nail polish is beginning to chip, take a couple of minutes in the morning to reapply a fresh coat before heading into the office. In addition, make sure to keep your nails short if you spend your workday typing on a keyboard. The loud clacking from acrylics is not entirely pleasant to listen to for hours on end!

Fragrance

When it comes to any kind of perfume or spray, consider your office mates who sit in close proximity to you. Keep in mind that the fragrance you like may not be as appealing to those sitting around you. Remember, if you’re in need of a midday fragrance pick-me-up, make sure to spray in the bathroom and not at your desk.

In addition to following these tips, you can also keep a pouch or small bag with any beauty essentials with you, such as deodorant, lipstick and blotting papers. You never know when you might need a touchup!
