Top 5 Margaritas for the Summer Time

Summer is all about relaxation and indulgence, but sometimes work gets in the way. When you’re ready to unwind from a week of hard work, or simply after a long day, a classic margarita is sure to hit the spot. Check out these margarita recipes that are both simple and tasty.

Classic margaritas contain flavors of tequila and citrus. However, much like your favorite summer cheeseburger, margaritas have been more in-demand and as a result, have also become more handcrafted. Here are the top five margaritas to try out this summer:

Blackberry Margaritas

What you’ll need:

  • 1 ½ oz. blanco tequila
  • ½ oz. honey syrup (equal parts honey and water)
  • 1 oz. fresh lemon juice
  • 10 fresh blackberries

Instructions

In a mixing glass, mash some blackberries

Get a cocktail shaker and fill with ice

Add in the rest of the ingredients with the blackberries

Shake it like a Polaroid picture

Strain into an ice filled margarita glass

Use two whole blackberries for garnish, if desired

If you want to add something different, try mashing two fresh basil leaves with the blackberries

Texas Margarita

What you’ll need:

  • 1 ½ oz. blanco tequila
  • ½ oz. Paula’s Texas Orange
  • ¾ oz. fresh squeezed lime juice

Instructions

Combine ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker

Shake it like a salt shaker

Strain into an ice filled cocktail glass (salt rim optional)

Finish with a lime wedge as garnish

Mezcal Margarita

What you’ll need:

  • 2 oz. mezcal of your choice
  • 1 oz. triple sec
  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice
  • ¼ oz. green chartreuse

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in an ice filled cocktail shaker

Shake shake shake

Strain drink into a margarita glass, fill with ice if desired

Use a wedge of lime as garnish

Mango-Habanero Margarita

What you’ll need:

  • 1 ½ oz. reposado tequila
  • ½ oz. orange liqueur
  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice
  • ½ oz. fresh mango puree
  • 1 oz. simple syrup infused with habanero (add 1 chopped habanero to 1 cup of warm simple syrup for 15 minutes)

Instructions

Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice

Shake shake shake

Strain into a margarita glass filled with ice

Garnish with lime

Jalapeno Margarita

What you’ll need:

  • 2 oz. blanco tequila of your choice
  • 3 oz. Paula’s Texas Orange or Triple Sec
  • 1 ½ oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1/3 fresh jalapeno

Instructions

Mash a jalapeno in a cocktail shaker

Add lime juice, tequila, and orange liqueur. Shake with ice

Strain into a margarita glass, filled with ice if desired

Finish with a wedge of lime
